  • The Prosecutor's Guide to Human Trafficking, 09/27

    The CSE Institute presents "The Prosecutor's Guide to Human Trafficking," a CLE designed for prosecutors. The event will focus on three goals within the state and federal trafficking laws: prevention, prosecution and protection. The training will include an overview of the neurobiology of trauma and the effects it has on the behaviors and functioning of survivors, including trauma-informed responses across disciplines so that participants can implement practices within their agencies. Finally, an overview of conducting and prosecuting a human trafficking investigation will include scenario-specific examples from sex trafficking and labor trafficking cases.

  • A Conversation on the Constitution, Faith and Public Life with Mike Pence, 09/18

    The Eleanor H. McCullen Center for Law, Religion and Public Policy will host "A Conversation on the Constitution, Faith and Public Life" with Mike Pence, the 48th Vice President of the United States. Space is limited to °®°®Ö±²¥ faculty, staff and students, and registration is required.

  • Lewis H. Gold ’62 Lecture on Ethics & Professional Responsibility, 09/04

    The Girard-diCarlo Center will host the third annual Lewis H. Gold ’62 Lecture on Ethics and Professional Responsibility on Wednesday, September 4. Woodrow Hartzog, author and professor of law at Boston University School of Law, will present “Two AI Truths and a Lie.” (This event was originally planned for spring 2024 and has been rescheduled.)

  • Federal Tax Clinic Takes on State Tax Disputes Under New Partnership with Pennsylvania Department of Revenue

    °®°®Ö±²¥ Law’s Federal Tax Clinic, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (DOR), has been recognized as one of three qualified law schools in the Commonwealth that may provide legal assistance with state tax issues. The investment from the DOR will allow the clinic – one of the oldest continuously operating low-income tax clinics in the nation – to expand its services to include tax disputes at the state level.

    °®°®Ö±²¥ Law's Class of 2027, hailing from 29 states, the District of Columbia and four international countries, began their law school journey last week. With impressive academic credentials and diverse backgrounds, this year’s entering class prepares to become principled leaders in the law profession.

  • °®°®Ö±²¥ Law Welcomes New Faculty Members in Fall 2024

    Mark C. Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean, has appointed three faculty members beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. This year, °®°®Ö±²¥ Law also welcomes a visiting professor and a visiting assistant professor.

  • Double Alumnus Establishes Endowed Professorship at °®°®Ö±²¥ Law

    The °®°®Ö±²¥ Charles Widger School of Law recently announced the John H. Buhsmer Esq. '84 Endowed Professor of Law. The new position is made possible by a $1.5 million gift from John (Jack) Buhsmer ’84 JD, ’89 LLM. Professor Leslie Book, a national authority on tax procedure and tax administration, is the inaugural professorship holder.
