°®°®Ö±²„ Nurses attend NSNA Summer Leadership Conference

'

Two representatives from the °®°®Ö±²„ College of Nursing Chapter of the Student Nursesā€™ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) attended the National Student Nursesā€™ Association (NSNA) Summer Leadership Conference in New York City held at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center on July 26th. SNAP-°®°®Ö±²„ faculty advisor Carol Weingarten, PhD, RN, ANEF spoke on the topic "School Chapter Advisors:  Inspiring and Mentoring Future Leaders."

The annual conference allows attendees to better understand NSNAā€™s mission and programs and share ideas to create stronger chapters.

ā€œThe NSNA Summer Leadership Conference was a wonderful experience in which I not only had the opportunity to meet other nursing students and faculty, but also learned some new ideas that can further strengthen our already award-winning SNAP chapter. It was also great to listen to Dr. Weingarten speak about her vital role as faculty advisor for °®°®Ö±²„'s NSNA/SNAP chapter,ā€ said junior Liz Long, legislative coordinator for both the chapter and state.

Her sister, Meghan Long, a sophomore and one of SNAP-°®°®Ö±²„'s Athletic Liaisons, also enjoyed Dr. Weingartenā€™s talk and meeting other nursing students from across the country. ā€œThe presentations were very informative and I learned a lot about managing nursing associations and other associations I can get involved with in the future,ā€  she notes.
