°®°®Ö±²„ Nurses enjoy successful NSNA convention

Once again, the delegation from the °®°®Ö±²„ Chapter of the Student Nursesā€™ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) was recognized for its leadership at the state and national level this spring. Student members of SNAP traveled to Nashville, Tenn. April 9-13, 2014, along with Carol Weingarten PhD, RN, ANEF, associate professor and longtime advisor  to the °®°®Ö±²„ Chapter of SNAP, for the National Student Nursesā€™ Associationā€™s (NSNA) 62nd Annual Convention.

At convention, °®°®Ö±²„'s resolution about depression in college students was passed by the House of Delegates.  Resolution authors were Kevin Sweeney, Marianna Cesareo, Elizabeth Long, Jenny Warren, Caroline Park, and Allison O'Neill.  °®°®Ö±²„ won the major national Empowering Resolutions Award.

Pennsylvania won the national Bylaws and Policies Award.  °®°®Ö±²„n Marianna Cesareo is the state legislative coordinator.

Then-junior Elizabeth ā€œLizā€ Long was elected NSNA vice president. In a congratulatory letter from NSNA Executive Director Diane Mancino, EdD, RN, CAE, FAAN, Liz was lauded for her ā€œsuperior leadership ability.ā€ Liz was state vice president at the time of the election.
